People love free stuff. From the days of cavemen, humans have sought out possessions of high value that cost them zippo.

Here's a few freebie wallpapers to whet the appetite — more will be coming, once I figure out how to juggle work time and free-time-that-is-actually-work-time.

Enjoy, and feel free to send in requests!

The Rocketeer >

The scene in the movie where he first flies has always been one of my all-time favourites. I'm still not sure why it's not a more popular movie... too naff maybe?

Anyway, here's the latest incarnation from Sideshow... and what a stunner it is! The detail on the rocket pack is inspired (click on the image to see the slideshow).

Must... go... place... order!

Iron Man Life Sized Bust >

There's not much else I can say about this but... "wow". Sideshow says:

"Iron Man has been captured in 1:1 scale in his unique powered armor, taken directly from the molds used to create the film costume. The bust is cast in high-quality fiberglass, hand finished and hand painted to exacting standards, and features LED light-up glowing eyes."

Mine arrived a few weeks ago... now I just need the home theatre to put it in!

< Thor Premium Format Figure

Bowen brought out a Thor statue quite a few years back, and it's now one of the hottest second-hand statues on the market. With a movie in the works, this statue could be the next big thing.

Dr Jones >

I like this. Very realistic... unless you've recently seen "The Crystal Skull".

Blood Elf Rogue VS Draenei Paladin diorama >

I was sceptical when they announced they were bringing out "official" World of Warcraft statues — the game models themselves are so rough, how could they translate to a collector's piece?

Fortunately, they've produced something really special — just a shame I don't play the game any more...

< Iron Man MkII 12" Figure

Although this is "just" a posable figure, I still can't get over Stan Winston's amazing design. Again, this figure takes batteries to make the appropriate bits glow. RIP Stan.

"Diplomatic Mission" >

Something very satisfying about Darth Vader throttling the life out of a silly hat-wearing rebel. About time they made this.
